Amihan, localized thunderstorms to bring rains across Philippines

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and localized thunderstorms will continue to bring rains across the country, the weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.

Based on its 24-hour weather forecast, the agency said Amihan would bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao, and partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Forecast wind speeds in Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao are moderate to strong, while coastal water conditions are moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 6:16 a.m. on Saturday.  — Sundy Locus/VBL, GMA Integrated News
