Amihan to bring rains over Luzon

The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will continue to affect Luzon and bring rains mainly over the northern and eastern sections of the island group, PAGASA said Saturday.

In a 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau reported that the Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao would experience cloudy skies with rains due to the Amihan.

Moderate to, at times, heavy rains in these ares may cause flash floods or landslides.

The Amihan would also affect Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, where partly cloudy to, at times, cloudy conditions with light rain may be experienced.

Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao would meanwhile have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides were possible during severe thunderstorms.

Winds over Luzon and the Visayas would be moderate to strong, moving in a northeasterly direction. Coastal waters will be moderate to rough (1.2 to 5.0 meters).

Mindanao, however, will have light to moderate winds with the wind moving northeast to north. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.5 meters).

The sun will set over Metro Manila at 6:03 p.m. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
