LPA off Davao City to bring rains over Visayas, Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) over the waters off Davao City will trigger rains in Visayas and Mindanao, according to PAGASA on Tuesday.

In its 4 p.m. forecast, the state weather agency said the LPA was last spotted 370 kilometers east of Davao City as of 3 p.m.

It is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Mindanao and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Visayas.

PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods and landslides due to the rainfall.

The northeast monsoon (Amihan), meanwhile, continues to affect Luzon and is forecast to bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.

Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will experience moderate to strong forecast winds and moderate to rough waters, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters.

The sun will rise Wednesday at 6:04 a.m. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
