LPA off Eastern Samar to bring rains across parts of Philippines
A low-pressure area (LPA) off Eastern Samar will spur rains across a large swath of the country on Monday, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail in Eastern Visayas and Caraga region while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The northeasterly surface wind flow will continue to affect northern Luzon and trigger cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies will be experienced in the Ilocos Region and Cordillera Adminstration Region.
As of 3 p.m., PAGASA said, the LPA was seen 750 kilometers off Borongan City.
Moderate to strong winds, accompanied by moderate to rough waters, are forecast over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas while the rest of the country is expected to have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
The highest temperature was monitored at 3:45 p.m. at 32°C while the lowest was 23.2°C at 6 a.m.
