LPA formerly Amang to trigger rains in NCR, nearby regions


The low-pressure area (formerly Tropical Depression Amang) off Infanta, Quezon will continue to cause rains across a huge part of the country, PAGASA said Thursday.

Based on its 24-hour public forecast issued at 4 p.m. on Thursday, the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, MIMAROPA, and Camarines Norte.

The rest of the country is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau warned flash floods and landslides are possible over these areas, especially during severe thunderstorms.

The LPA was last seen in the vicinity of Infanta, Quezon as of 3 p.m.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will prevail over the country.
