Easterlies, localized thunderstorms to bring isolated rain showers over PH

The easterlies continue to affect the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday and will cause isolated rain showers over parts of the country, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may possibly result during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA is also monitoring Tropical Depression Sanvu which is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

At 3 a.m. on Sunday, Sanvu was estimated to be located 2,960 km east of Visayas. It has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and is moving westward slowly.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise was at 5:38 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:11 p.m. —KG, GMA Integrated News
