Easterlies to bring rains over parts of Philippines

The easterlies or the warm, humid air from the Pacific Ocean continues to affect the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.

Based on its 24-hour public forecast, cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected in eastern Visayas while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned against the possible flash floods and landslides brought about by the rainfall.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions may prevail over the country, the agency added.

The maximum temperature hit 33.6°C at 1:50 p.m. while the lowest was monitored at 5 a.m. at 24.4°C.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:36 a.m. on Wednesday. —Sundy Locus/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
