PAGASA: LPA off Negros Oriental to bring rains in parts of PH

A low-pressure area (LPA) off Negros Oriental will spur rains across parts of the country on Wednesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Based on its 4 p.m. forecast, PAGASA said the LPA is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It was last seen in the vicinity of Tanjay City, Negros Oriental at 3 p.m.

The weather systems will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and the localized thunderstorms.

Rain-induced flash floods and landslides may occur in these areas, the weather bureau added.

Forecast winds in the country will be light to moderate while the coastal water conditions will be slight to moderate.

The highest temperature hit 34.8°C at 1 p.m. while the lowest was 25.9°C at 6 a.m.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:33 a.m. —Sundy Locus/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
