LPA to bring scattered rain showers over Palawan


Palawan, due to the Low Pressure Area (LPA), will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, PAGASA reported. The weather bureau added that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

At 3 a.m. on Saturday, the LPA was at 115 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas during severe thunderstorms.

Heat Index

The forecasted Heat Index for Metro Manila ranges from a minimum of 40 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 41 degrees Celsius.

The highest Heat Index is expected to be felt in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte with 45 degrees Celsius.

The heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels in contrast to the actual air temperature.

Wind speed

The wind speed forecast for Visayas and Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the northeast to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

For Luzon, the wind speed forecast is light to moderate and moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
