Easterlies, localized thunderstorms to bring isolated rain over NCR, rest of country


The easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The forecasted heat index for Metro Manila will remain at 38 degrees Celsius throughout the day.

The highest heat index is expected to be felt in Roxas City, Capiz; Catarman, Northern Samar; and Guiuan, Eastern Samar with 45 degrees Celsius.

The heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels in contrast to the actual air temperature.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon and Visayas is light to moderate moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Sunrise will be at 5:30 a.m., sunset at 6:15 p.m. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
