PAGASA: Frontal system to spur rains over Batanes, Babuyan Islands

A frontal system will affect extreme northern Luzon while a southwesterly surface windflow will prevail over the western sections of northern and central Luzon, weather bureau PAGASA said on Monday.

In its  24-hour public forecast, PAGASA said the frontal system will bring cloudy skies with rains in Batanes and Babuyan Islands while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the southwesterly surface windflow and the localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods and landslides may occur in these areas due to the expected rainfall, it added.

Forecast winds in the country will be light to moderate, while the coastal water conditions will be slight to moderate.

The highest temperature reached 33.5°C at 2 p.m. while the lowest was 26.9°C at 5 a.m.

The sun will set at 6:17 p.m. It will rise over Metro Manila on Tuesday at 5:29 a.m. —Sundy Locus/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
