ITCZ to trigger rains over PH

A rainy weekend may prevail in the country due to an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.

Based on its 24-hour public forecast, PAGASA said the ITCZ affecting Mindanao will continue to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

It likewise warned against rain-induced flash floods and landslides that may occur in the affected areas during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions will be experienced in the country.

The highest temperature peaked at 32.7*C at 2 p.m. while the lowest was 25.3°C at 6 a.m.
