Over 242,000 QC residents to experience water service interruption on Friday


Over 242,000 residents of select areas in Quezon City are set to experience a seven-hour water service interruption starting Friday evening due to the relocation of major pipelines along the Elliptical Road, Manila Water announced on Monday.

In an advisory, the East Zone concessionaire said at least 20 barangays will experience a service interruption from 11 p.m. on Friday, May 24, to 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 25.

"More than 242,000 population in 20 barangays in Quezon City will experience water service interruption as Manila Water relocates its major pipeline at the corner of Elliptical Road and North Avenue to make way for the construction of the MRT 7," it said.

The affected barangays include the following:

  • Bahay Toro
  • Central
  • Culiat
  • Malaya
  • New Era
  • Old Capitol Site
  • Pasong Tamo
  • Pinyahan
  • Project 6
  • Ramon Magsaysay
  • San Vicente
  • Santo Cristo
  • Sikatuna Village
  • Tandang Sora
  • Teachers Village East
  • Teachers Village West
  • UP Village
  • Vasra
