230,000 Manila Water customers in Manila, Makati to face 9-hour service interruption Tuesday


Some 230,000 customers of Manila Water Company Inc. in Makati and Manila are scheduled to experience a 9-hour service interruption starting Tuesday evening, due to a valve installation in Sta. Ana, Manila.

In an advisory, Manila Water said the service interruption will start at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. It will affect 232,000 customers or 58,000 households, commercial, and business establishments in 94 barangays in Makati and Manila.

"Manila Water is advising residents of the said barangays to store enough water to supply their needs during the interruption period. After service is restored, customers are advised to allow a few minutes for flushing before using the water from their taps," the advisory read.

Manila Water is the east zone concessionaire which services 23 cities and municipalities in Metro Manila and Rizal.

These include Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, and parts of Quezon City and Manila. The towns of Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Jalajala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, Tanay, Taytay, Teresa, San Mateo and Antipolo in the province of Rizal are also part of the East Zone. — Jon Viktor D.
