Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge to be closed on Jan. 12, 2019

The Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge connecting the cities of Makati and Mandaluyong will be closed to traffic on Saturday, January 12, 2019, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways, the bridge will be closed at 8 a.m. on Jan. 12.

The bridge's closure will give way to demolition and reconstruction work scheduled last September.

The bridge was closed for a weekend in September but was reopened after heavy traffic was observed.

The reconstruction work will expand the bridge from two lanes to four lanes.

The DPWH said it will finish the project in 2021.
