MRT3 to give free rides to veterans on April 5-11, 2019

In observance of the Araw ng Kagitingan and Philippine Veterans Week, the Department of Transportation-Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (DOTr-MRT-3) announced Tuesday it will offer free rides to Filipino veterans on April 5 to 11, 2019.

Free rides can be availed by fellow veterans from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. of the MRT-3.

The LRT2 also made a similar free ride announcement earlier in the day.

"One companion of a veteran will also be allowed to ride the MRT3 for free," the DOTr-MRT-3 said.

"In order to avail of the free ride, Filipino veterans must present their Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) identification card upon entry at any MRT3 station," it said.

April 9, Araw ng Kagitingan, is a regular holiday commemorating the valiant heroism of Filipino soldiers during World War II. — Ted Cordero/RSJ, GMA News
