PAL: All domestic, international trips to go as scheduled

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Tuesday assured its passengers that all its domestic and international flights will push through as scheduled.

"In response to numerous queries from the public and our passengers, Philippine Airlines wishes to provide assurance that we are operating our full regular schedule of flights for both domestic and international route networks," it said.

"Our flights and airport operations remain normal at our hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao," it added.

This comes as budget carrier Cebu Pacific announced the cancellation of several flights from May 1 (Wednesday) to May 10 (Friday).

The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has since said that it would take a further look into the recent additional cancellations.

"We are ready and willing to work in concert with the government authorities, in particular the Department of Transportation, the airport authorities and the Civil Aeronautics Board, to provide support and relief to the traveling public during this peak travel summer season," said PAL.

PAL this year added three new destinations for its flights -- Manila to Hanoi in Vietnam; Manila to Phnom Penh in Cambodia; and Manila to New Delhi in India.

"To this end, we are sustaining our recently implemented increases in flight frequencies on key routes and we will do our best to operate these in a timely manner for the benefit of the public, guided always by the highest standards of service and safety, above all," the carrier said. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/LDF, GMA News
