MMDA suspends number coding starting 12 noon Tuesday due to Tisoy

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Tuesday announced the lifting of the number coding scheme for vehicles effective 12 noon.

The Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) is a traffic scheme wherein motorists are banned from using Metro Manila roads at certain hours depending on the last number of their vehicles' license plates. For Tuesday, vehicles with license plates ending in 3 and 4 are banned from the streets from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Metro Manila, which is currently under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2, is feeling the strong winds and heavy rains of Typhoon Tisoy (international name: Kammuri) as of posting time.

PAGASA raised the yellow rainfall warning over Metro Manila, Rizal and Cavite at 11 a.m., which means 7.5 to 15 mm of heavy rains are expected in one hour and may continue in the next two hours.
