PAL cancels flights between Philippines and Doha


Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Monday announced the cancellation of its flights to and from Doha, Qatar in light of travel restrictions due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The following flights are canceled:

March 11 to 15

  • PR 684: Manila - Doha
  • PR 685: Doha - Manila

Affected passengers have the option to request for rebooking/rerouting or refunding of confirmed tickets on or before March 28, 2020.

Passengers may also choose a new travel date that falls on or before June 30, 2020.

Earlier, the Qatar government has temporarily barred travelers from 14 countries from March 9 as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The band covers China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria and Thailand.

The Philippines now has a total of 24 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

The number of deaths due to the virus remained at one -- a 44-year-old Chinese male who was the first death outside China. — BAP, GMA News
