Carriers cancel Cebu flights amid travel ban

Local carriers have canceled select flights to and from the province of Cebu following the travel ban imposed by its local government amid the threat from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In an advisory, budget carrier Cebu Pacific said the following flights were canceled from March 15 until April 13, 2020:

AirAsia also announced the cancellation of the following flights from March 15 to April 14:

• All domestic flights to and from the Mactan Cebu Airport
• Domestic flights to and from the Kalibo International Airport
• Select domestic and international flights from the Clark International Airport

The latest announcements are in line with the travel ban imposed by Cebu, banning travel from Cagayan de Oro, Legazpi City, and New Clark City to Cebu and vice versa starting March 16. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
