MMDA checking alternate routes for use when Roxas Blvd. is partly closed for repair

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is studying the possible alternate routes that motorists may take when part of Roxas Boulevard is closed for repair.

The southbound lane of a section of Roxas Boulevard will have to be closed for two to three months to give way to the repair of the drainage structure, according to a report on GMA's Saksi on Monday.

No date has been set yet for the road closure.

Around 53,000 vehicles will be affected daily by the road closure.

Cargo trucks will also be affected. One option being studied is to have the shipping containers brought from the Manila International Container Terminal at the Port of Manila to Cavite, and from there have the containers loaded onto trucks to prevent heavy traffic build-up. —KG, GMA News
