EDSA Carousel Bus 'libreng sakay' resumes next week

Free rides (libreng sakay) on the EDSA carousel bus will begin next week, the last week of March 2022.

This is after the Department of Transportation received from the Department of Budget and Management the P7 billion budget

for service contracting program, according to a report by Corinne Catibayan on GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday.

With this, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board will pay for the operation of the EDSA carousel bus and some jeepneys plying certain routes.

Commuters welcomed the announcement of the free rides on the EDSA carousel bus, saying it would be a big help for them especially for those earning minimum wage. —KG, GMA News
