PNR suspends trips after magnitude 5.3 quake

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) on Wednesday said it has temporarily suspended all trips following the magnitude 5.3 quake that struck Camarines Norte and was felt in Metro Manila.

“Pansamantalang suspendido ang lahat ng byahe ng PNR ngayong hapon, Disyembre 7, dulot ng yanig na dala ng lindol,” the PNR said in an advisory.

(All PNR trips are temporarily suspended this Wednesday afternoon, December 7, due to the tremors caused by the earthquake.)

It advised passengers to check its official Facebook page for more updates regarding the train trips and schedule.

In a separate advisory, the PNR announced that it resumed its operations at 3:30 p.m.

“Sa ganap na 3:30 ngayong hapon, nanumbalik na po sa normal ang lahat ng byahe ng Philippine National Railways na naantala dulot ng paglindol kaninang hapon,” the PNR said.

(At 3:30 p.m., all PNR trips that were delayed due to the earthquake this afternoon have returned to normal.)

According to PHIVOLCS’ earthquake bulletin, the tectonic quake occurred at 1:05 p.m. with a depth of 1 kilometer. The epicenter of the quake was at 19 km N 62° E of Tinaga Island (Vinzons).
