EDSA Ortigas flyover-southbound to close for repairs from April 6 to 10 — DPWH

The three lanes of the EDSA Ortigas flyover southbound in Mandaluyong City will be closed from April 6 to 10 due to rehabilitation works, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

The DPWH said this was part of the yearly preventive maintenance on the national bridges and roads in Metro Manila to prevent untoward accidents.

“Maximizing the advantage of less motorists traversing the area during the Holy Week, the rehabilitation works will involve major repairs on the southbound portion of the flyover to rectify the damages observed in its expansion joints, while its northbound portion remains passable,” the DPWH-National Capital Region said in a statement.

The rehabilitation work on the flyover, which connects C-5 Road and Ortigas Avenue, will provide an "improved riding surface," the DPWH said.

It will also strengthen the bridge's structural integrity, the agency added.

The DPWH advised motorists to access alternate routes through the service road to avoid traffic congestion.

“The DPWH-National Capital Region pledged that the flyover will be opened to traffic once the rectified lanes are fully cured on April 10, 2023, to avoid heavy traffic during the return of offices,” it said. —Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA Integrated News
