Miriam Quiambao, may payo kay Janine Tugonon at sa mga nais maging beauty queen

Isa sa mga inaabangang bahagi ng bawat beauty pageants ang "question and answer" portion. At tulad ng ibang Miss Universe, dumaan din sa mahirap na katanungan si 1999 Miss Universe– First runner up Miriam Quiambao.    Nang panahong iyon, ang naging katanungan kay Miriam ay: "If Miss Universe were to become pregnant during her reign, should she be allowed to continue as Miss Universe?"   Ang naging tugon niya: "That is a very difficult situation to be in and I believe that the Miss Universe, if ever she becomes pregnant, I believe that she should continue with her reign if she had been a good example of Miss Universe and if she pursued all the goals that she had in the first place, and I believe that she should continue."   Naiuwi ni Miriam ang korona bilang first runner-up, samantalang si Miss Botswana Mpule Kwelagobe ang itinanghal na Miss Universe.   Sa episode ng "The Tim Yap Show" nitong Lunes, sinubukang sagutin ni Miriam ang naging katanungan ng mga kapwa niya beauty queen na sina Maria Venus Raj (2010), Shamcey Supsup (2011), at Gloria Diaz (1969).   Narito ang sagot ni Miriam sa bawat katanungan:   What is the biggest mistake that you’ve ever made in your life and what did you do to make it right?   Ito ang tanong ni judge William Baldwin para sa 2010 Miss Universe– Fourth runner up Maria Venus Raj.   Sagot ni Venus: "In my 22 years of existence I can say there is nothing major, major. Because I am very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So, thank you so much that I am here, thank you thank you so much."   Sagot ni Miriam: "One of the biggest mistakes I ever did in my life was to turn away from my faith in God. When I did that things didn't go right in my life and I ended up in a place where I really asked myself: 'Who am I?' Where am I going?'    "Before fame and fortune, I realized it was my faith. And when I went back to God, I realized that success really comes from God and all things are really from him. So everyday of my life, I realize now that I must put him in my center. And ever since I did that, I really just feel more alive and I feel more joyful, more blessed and He's blessed me with so much more. Now I really feel that I found my direction, I found what's realyl true in life."   Ito naman ang naging tanong ni judge Vivica Fox para kay 2012 Miss Universe— Third runner up Shamcey Supsup. "Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love?"   Sagot ni Shamcey: “If I have to change my religious belief, I will not marry the person I love because the first person that I love is God and He created me. And I have my faith, my principles and it what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God.’’   Sagot ni Miriam: "I will have to say I will not exchange my relationship with Jesus for the man I love because first of all, my ultimate and first love is Jesus at kung sino man 'yong mapapang-asawa ko he will have to settle for second place next to Jesus."   Ito ang tanong para kay 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz. "In the next day or so, a man will land on the moon. If a man from the moon landed in your hometown, what would you do to entertain him? "   Sagot ni Gloria: "Oh, just the same things I do. I think if he has been on the moon for so long, I think when he comes over he wants to change, I guess."   Sagot ni Miriam: "At first I will welcome him in my home and serve him the best home cooked dishes that I'll offer him and I'll show him around where I'm staying, here in Taguig City, I'll take him around there. Plus, on top of that I'll bring him to the best places to go like Opus nad Republiq. And if I can take him away to Boracay, we'll enjoy a fun day in the sun."   Isa si Tim Yap sa mga nagmamay-ari ng Opus at Republiq.   Payo sa future beauty queens   Nagbigay din ng mensahe si Miriam para sa mga nagnanais maging beauty queen.   "Enter the industry with a purpose in mind," bungad ni Miriam. "Lahat kasi tayo kung pumapasok tayo sa isang bagay, kaya lang tayo tumatagal doon, kaya lang magkakaroon ng meaning ang trabahong 'yon o ang path na 'yon ay kung meron tayong purpose."   Gayundin, kung ang layunin ay upang makatulong sa ibang tao at hindi para lamang sa sarili, maaaring pasukin ang ninanais na trabahong tulad ng pagiging beauty queen.   Aniya, "Kung 'yong purpose is beyond self, kunwari para tumulong sa ibang tao,  para magbigay ng serbisyo, para magbigay ng inspirasyon— para sa'kin isang magandang inspirasyon 'yan para hindi lang ikaw ang natutulungan kundi nagagamit mo rin yung platform na 'yon para makatulong sa ibang tao."   Sa naturang palabas din ipinagdiwang ni Miriam ang kanyang kaarawan.   Pagkumpara kay Janine Tugonon   Sinagot din ni Miriam ang isyu tungkol pagkukumpara sa kanila ni Janine Tugonon na naging first runner-up sa Miss Universe pageant noong 2012. Gayundin sa pinagdaanang break-up ni Janine sa boyfriend nitong Pinoy na mainit na pinag-usapan sa mga social networking site gaya ng Twitter. "Controversies kasi parang part and parcel na 'yan ng pagiging in the limelight, diba? Pero yung controversy naman kasi, siya rin naman nagdivulge so parang, at least diba naging honest siya," patungkol ni Miriam kay Janine.    "I guess ang challenge lang sa kanya is continue, keeping a part of her life private inspite of being in the eyes of the public. Kasi importante rin na meron tayong itinatago para sa sarili natin," payo ni Miriam.   Patuloy pa niya, wala sa harap ng publiko at camera ang totoong buhay kaya importante umanong may matirang pribado sa sarili.   "Ngayon nasa camera siya, marami siyang mga project, sige, ride the wave lang, diba? Tapos mag-ipon siya ng marami para 'pag umabot 'yong panahon... Sana tumagal pa siya sa showbiz, pero baka umabot yung panahon na hindi na siya kasing sikat ng dati, meron siyang ipon at mainvest niya sa iba," ayon kay Miriam. -- MMacapendeg/FRJ, GMA News
