‘Princess Hours’ star Sattaphong Phiangphor surprised by fame in PHL

Sattaphong Phiangphor received a princely welcome when he arrived in the Philippines on Saturday, having amassed a sizeable following in the country after his series, "Princess Hours," began airing on GMA Network.

As seen in a report by Nelson Canlas on 24 Oras Weekend, the 28-year-old actor was met by screaming fans when he arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for a fan convention on Sunday.

The reception seemed to surprise the Thai actor, who said that he didn't believe it at first when someone told him through social media that he had gained fame among Pinoys.

Phiangphor,  who stars as Prince Ian on the GMA Heart of Asia series, tried out a few Filipino words and phrases during a press conference, including "salamat," "mahal ko kayo," and even "gutom ako."

He also said he was open to working on a project in the Philippines alongside Filipino actors.

"Yes, I do. Of course. I'm free next year," he laughed, and thanked Filipino fans for supporting him and his work.

The actor also posted a video on Instagram showing his welcome at the airport.
