Kris Aquino shares medical findings

On Instagram Wednesday evening, Kris Aquino shared the results of medical tests she took in Singapore.

“I now know I have Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, and yes, mine is an automimmune disease,” Kris declared, saying for the rest of her life, she will have to be on high dosage antihistamines.

“Having the EpiPen will always be crucial,” she added.

, Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria is “persistent symptoms of urticaria for six weeks or more.”

“It is associated with autoimmunity in approximately 45 percent of patients,” it added, saying therapy is often difficult.

Urticaria, the medical term for hives, is “a disabling skin condition characterized by recurrent, raised, pruritic lesions, lasting between one hour and several days that settle without disruption of the epidermal barrier,” the Allergy.org.au website said.

In her Instagram post, Kris said she lost a whopping 15 pounds in just a month, which raised everybody’s concern; her mom had “unexplained weight loss before her cancer diagnosis.”

Amid the stress of her legal battles stemming from financial deception, Kris and her family feared she had lupus, which is why she flew to Singapore to get tested.

“I disclosed that I started maintenance medication to control my hypertension in 2015; I also have ongoing treatment for severe migraines. You know my life’s journey. Thank you for being with me through the tears and victories,” she said.

As they say, knowing is half the battle. Good on you Kris for taking action on your health! — LA, GMA News
