Alden Richards says branching out from love teams gave him a chance to grow

Alden Richards believes that breaking out of love teams is a blessing in a way because it gives him an opportunity for personal growth.

"In a way po kasi, blessing in a way na binigyan ako ng chance na mag-grow personally," Alden said at the media launch of "The Gift" on Monday when asked about doing projects outside of a love team.

"Masarap po 'yong feeling na makakagawa ka ng mga proyekto na magiging proud ka sa sarili mo," he added.

Asia's Multimedia Star said that being an actor is a gift in itself because not only did it change his life, but it also changes the lives of those he inspires through his craft.

"Binago po nito 'yong buhay ko pero as much as it's changing my life I'm changing others as well through the inspiration they get through the projects I make, especially with the fans," he said.

The Kapuso actor said he realizes that he loves his job even more when he receives good feedback from the audience and his fans.

"Ang kinakatuwa ko kasi mahal ko ang trabaho ko, mas minamahal ko siya kapag may nababasa akong comments na, mga lumalapit sa akin na, 'Alden, ang ganda ng ginawa mong ganitong klaseng project and you changed my life,'" he said.

Alden said inspiring other people through the characters he portrays has become his goal.

"Siguro 'yon po 'yong nagiging goal ko sa lahat ng mga ginagawa kong proyekto, gaano ba kalaking inspirasyon ang ginagawa nito sa mga manunuod," he said.

Alden will star as a blind man named Seph in the upcoming GMA-7 drama series "The Gift."

Other Kapuso stars who appearing in the series are Jo Berry, Jean Garcia, Thia Thomalla, Mikee Quintos, Ysabel Ortega, Rochelle Pangilinan, Martin del Rosario, Christian Vasquez, and Elizabeth Oropesa. — BM, GMA News
