Gretchen addresses allegation she 'stole' Atong Ang from niece

Gretchen Barretto has addressed an allegation that she "stole" Atong Ang from her niece Nicole Barretto, leading to a physical confrontation between the two.

The alleged confrontation supposedly happened during the wake of Miguel Barretto, Gretchen's father.

On her Instagram Stories, Gretchen reposted a supposed conversation between Nicole and another Instagram user, which quoted Nicole as saying that she was in the United States "to move on" from what Atong and Gretchen did to her.

"I'm stating the fact that my own aunt stole my boyfriend," the post read.

To this Gretchen replied: "Oh I'm sorry. I was told Nicole stole Atong from her aunt Claudine.

Gretchen also posted a snippet of the supposed conversation about the fracas during the wake, writing: "Dada is going to address this issue." Gretchen was referring to longtime partner Tony Boy Cojuangco.

On the incident where Nicole supposedly said she was merely trying to protect her aunt Marjorie, Gretchen wrote: "You want to hurt me, not protect Marjorie. Don't fool yourself."

She added: "You just gave birth and have a boyfriend and yet, hinahabol mo ang cliente mong si Atong."

As a parting shot, Gretchen said Atong will make his statements and speak for himself, noting that he's happily married too.

"This is between you and your demons. Keep me out of your pathetic state. Move on."

Gretchen has been involved in a social media feud with Marjorie since their alleged confrontation at the wake.

Senator Bong Go, who attended the event along with President Rodrigo Duterte, has described the event as like a scene from a movie.

"Pumunta po [kami doon] para makiramay sa yumaong ama ng mga Barretto dahil kaibigan po ni Pangulo ang mga Barretto. Unfortunately, may away ang pamilya," he said. —JST, GMA News
