Julie Anne San Jose sings her way to NCCA ambassadorship

Julie Anne San Jose's 2020  is off to a great start.

The 25-year-old Kapuso singer, actress and songwriter, who conquered the 2019 music scene with a sold-out concert and several local and international awards, has just been chosen by the National Commission for Culture and Arts’ (NCCA) as its newest music ambassador.

The NCCA made the announcement at the launch of the annual National Arts Month celebration in Intramuros on Tuesday, where they recognized Asia's Pop Diva for her sterling music career.

In turn, Julie Anne promised to use her talent and influence to help promote Filipino arts and culture in the country, especially among the youth.

“Salamat po for giving me the opportunity to contribute to our country in my own little way, and this will actually encourage me even more to inspire more people, especially the youth, in pursuing their passion,” she said in a speech.

“Napaka-talented po talaga ng mga Pilipino, and mabuhay po kayong lahat, mabuhay ang ating sining at kultura.”

Of course, Asia’s Pop Diva also conveyed her gratitude with a song.

If you can recall, Julie Anne San Jose made her on-screen debut as a finalist on Little Miss Philippines when she was just three years-old.

Now she’s a chart-topping singer-songwriter with a long list of accolades, which include a PMPC Star Award for Female Pop Artist of the Year, as well as an Aliw Award for her mega-successful “Julie Sings The Divas concert,” which sold out the Solaire Resort Theatre last year.

The annual National Arts Month (NAM) is held every February.

This year's theme "Ani ng Sining" (Harvest of the Arts) emphasizes the ample artistic activities in the country with Filipino artists and cultural workers' passion.

The NCCA also selected Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray as its ambassador for arts, whereas singer KZ Tandingan renewed her partnership with the NCCA as a music ambassador this year.

Aside from her part in the annual National Arts Month activities this February, Julie Anne is gearing up for an upcoming concert with Christian Bautista called “The Sweetheart and The Balladeer: Fun Night Only” on February 8.

You can also catch her on GMA’s musical variety program “All Out Sundays” every Sunday at noon. — LA, GMA News
