Boys Like Girls postpones Philippine tour amid COVID-19 pandemic


Rock band Boys Like Girls announced that they will be moving their April concert in Manila and Cebu to September this year amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

"Sad to say, unfortunately due to the COVID-19 spread, we have to reschedule our Asia/Australia tour dates," the band said inn a Facebook post on Wednesday.

"We wanted to play so badly for you, but also we want to keep everyone safe and healthy. good news is we have new dates for these shows. We will see you in September."

Boys Like Girls will move their Cebu show to September 15, while their Manila show will now be on September 16 and 17.

The band, known for their hit songs "Thunder" and "Hero/Heroine",  assured their fans that all previously purchased tickets will still be valid for the new concert dates. 

More than 191,000 cases of COVID-19 have been detected and over 7,842 people have died around the world as of Wednesday, according to an Agence France-Presse report.
