‘Wowowin’ contestant curses Willie Revillame after mistaking him for prank caller

A “Wowowin” contestant cursed Willie Revillame after accidentally mistaking him for a prank caller.

According to Cata Tibayan’s report on “24 Oras” Tuesday, the Wowowin host called up a contestant on the phone yesterday during the show’s live sessions online.

Willie told the caller, Alexa, to say thank you to the show’s sponsor that day, which was an online shopping app.

Alexa, however, could not believe what she heard and proceeded to curse the host.

“’Wag niyo ako murahin, si Willie Revillame po ’to,” the Wowowin host clarified.

When the caller realized who she was speaking to, she apologized to Willie nonstop.

“Akala ko lang po kasi pinagtritripan ako kasi sabi niyo po kasi araw-araw hapon-hapon po na huwag po maniniwala agad,” said Alexa, who was from Negros Occidental.

Willie, proving he was a good sport, just pretended that the contestant told him he was “gwapo” and gave her a total of P15,000 cash prize.

Although Willie let the blunder slip, he clarified to the audience that cursing him would not make them win more money. “Babala para sa lahat na hindi ’pag minura niyo ko dadagdagan ko na kayo.”

He jokingly added, “Nagwapuhan lang siya sakin.”

With the proper safety measures in place amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, “Wowowin” not only airs on television but also streams live online. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
