Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino reveal why they married early

Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino shocked fans when they married less than a year since getting together.

In a YouTube video, the Kapuso couple revealed how they came to that decision and opened up about being criticized for marrying too "quickly."

Joyce said that she and Juancho "kind of had the idea of marriage even before going into the relationship."

She said she told him right from the beginning that she didn't intend to "date around" — she wanted to start her next relationship with somebody she could spend the rest of her life with.

"In the beginning of our relationship — and I know this sounds so bad, probably but — in the beginning of our relationship, before I let Juancho court me, I actually told him that I want to get married with the person I'm going to be with the next time," Joyce said.

"So if I'm going to have a boyfriend, I want to see that person as someone that I will marry," she added.

The singer-host said that she doesn't think it matters how long two people have been together.

"What matters is the quality of the things that you experienced during the time that you were together," she said.

Juancho, on the other hand, said Joyce was "the first person who accepted me for who I am, for what I have, and for what I can give in a relationship."

"She accepted me as a person. She loves my friends and family, first ko nakakita na sobrang bilis na maka-click with other people," he explained.

"I love that about her dahil ramdam ko talaga 'yung genuine love niya and acceptance, not only to me but sa pamilya ko rin, sa mga kaibigan ko," he added.

Joyce and Juancho tied the knot on February 9 in a garden wedding at Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City.

The "Unang Hirit" co-hosts have been engaged since August last year, but they didn’t announce it until November.
