Glaiza de Castro retrieves Instagram account from hacker

Glaiza de Castro got her Instagram account back after it was seized by an anonymous hacker who demanded money from the actress.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Glaiza shared that she lost access to her account and the hacker demanded $335 or around P16,700 for her to get it back.

The actress shared a screenshot of her emails with the hacker who went by the name Any Hirl. In the photo, Hirl told Glaiza that they had already told her “what to do” to get her account back. 

“Our interest is only in money. We don’t need your account. We will restore it immediately after payment in 15 minutes. We will send you a login password and instructions on how to protect your account,” said the hacker. 

The next day, however, Glaiza shared that she was able to retrieve her account.

Sharing a post on Instagram, she wrote, “Gaiz pinangatawanan ni @glaizaredux ang username niya. Nagbalik siya!”

She thanked everyone who reached out to her, especially the Facebook team who gave her assistance.

“Grabe, sa panahon ngayon hindi lang talaga pisikal ang krimen, at mas nakakatakot, hindi mo nakikita ang mukha ng kalaban. Kaya ingat tayo sa mga na ki click natin, mga natatanggap nating emails or links at mga binibigay nating impormasyon online,” Glaiza said. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
