Heart Evangelista's current read is Kevin Kwan's latest book 'Sex and Vanity'

Heart Evangelista showed support for her friend and award-winning author Kevin Kwan by brandishing her own copy of "Sex and Vanity."

On Instagram, Heart shared Kwan's latest book is her "current read," as she lounged by the poolside.

"Sex and Vanity" immediately became a New York Times bestseller after being released last June.

It tells the story of a young woman who finds herself torn between two worlds – the WASP establishment of her father's family and George Zao, a man she is desperately trying to avoid falling in love with.

The book has been picked up for a film adaptation by Sony Pictures and SK Global.

Kwan is also the author of "Crazy Rich Asians," which was adapted into film. The movie became a global sensation when it was released in 2018. It grossed $238 million worldwide, with a sequel in the way.
