Lani Misalucha can't believe she's one of TOFA's 100 Most Influential Filipinos

Lani Misalucha is deeply honored to be among The Outstanding Filipinos in America Awards’ (TOFA) 100 Most Influential honorees.

In fact, the Filipino singer known as Asia’s Nightingale said she actually could not believe it when she first heard the news.

"I am honored and I am very grateful that I'm included," Lani told Lhar Santiago in an interview on GMA-7's "Unang Hirit."

"But to tell you honestly, sabi ko nga, 'Talaga ba sigurado ba kayo na include niyo ko?" she added.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, TOFA announced its list of 100 Most Influential Filipinos in America, which also includes singer Lea Salonga and journalist Maria Ressa.

The awarding ceremony scheduled on October 31 is set to be held virtually amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before serenading her fans with a special at-home performance of "Saan Darating ang Umaga" on UH, Lani said she was also excited that her fans will be seeing her as a judge on the newest season of"The Clash.

"Iba yung pakiramdam ngayon na parang 'oh my gosh'," the singer said.

"There's excitement, there's this, somehow, fear in you but, at the same time, I am very very happy," she added. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
