Mikee Quintos and Kelvin Miranda are set to portray young culinary professionals working hard to reach their dreams in "The Lost Recipe," the new fantasy romance TV series on GMA News TV.

In an interview with GMA Entertainment reporters on Tuesday, the two shared a few tidbits about their newest show and their characters.

"I'm gonna play Apple in this show," Mikee began. "[She's] an aspiring chef na magwo-work sa empire ng restaurants ni Sir Harvey."

"Ako naman si Harvey, 'yung mayari ng sinasabi niyang restaurant empire. Ako 'yung  may-ari ng restaurant na pinagtatrabahuhan ni Mikee," Kelvin said.

Because the show revolves around the culinary world, the two actors expressed willingness to improve their cooking skills, so as to portray their roles better.

According to Mikee, the lockdown saw her spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking, which is why she's aware there is still room for improvement.

"Kung kailangang magluluto ako sa mga scenes, kailangan kong mag-practice mag-slice nang mabilisan, yung mukhang professional. I think simple things like that, I need to practice more. Immersion would help," she said.

Meanwhile, Kelvin said he grew up knowing how to cook and work around the kitchen but he said he would be willing to undergo formal training for his character, Harvey.

"Kinalakihan at hilig ko talagang gawin, simula pa nung bata ako" he said. "Kung may ganyan, eh willing naman ako kasi hindi rin naman ako 'yung formal na nakapag-aral ng culinary so siguro mas makakatulong siya para mas paniwalaan yung character na talagang inaral ko na talagang dedicated ako dito," he said.

This will be the first time Mikee and Kelvin will be starring in a show together.

In a report on "24 Oras" last week, the two expressed their  excitement after they were surprised to learn about the news.

"The Lost Recipe" will premiere on GMA News TV, and its launch date is yet to be announced.

Kelvin previously appeared in Kapuso drama "Madrasta" and the 2019 Netflix film "Dead Kids."

Mikee, meanwhile, played Lira in the "Encantadia" remake and also appeared in "Onanay" and "The Gift." — LA, GMA News
