In ‘Tanging Hiling,’ April Boy sings about good health, long life

April Boy Regino died November 29, 2020 at the age of 59.

The legendary OPM singer, whose greatest hits include “Paano Ang Puso Ko,” “Umiiyak Ang Puso,” and “Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin,” has been known to exude a positive outlook on life despite his struggle with a number of health problems.

April Boy was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009 while living in the United States. In 2013, he announced that he was already cancer-free after years of battling the illness.

In 2015, the singer had shared that he was suffering from diabetic retinopathy, an eye condition that can cause vision loss and blindness in people with diabetes.

In December that same year, he released a heartfelt ballad called “Tanging Hiling." The lyrics about being blessed with good health and long life.

The chorus goes:

"Tanging Hiling ko lang Panginoong Hesus
Humaba pa sana ang Buhay ko
Di ba't sabi manalig lang ako
Ikaw ang Dakilang manggagamot ko oh...
