Benjamin Alves admits he was 'starstruck' by Lovi Poe in 'Sana Dati'

Did you know that Lovi Poe was Benjamin Alves' first-ever leading lady?

Before pairing up for GMA's upcoming romantic comedy "Owe My Love," the two actors had already captivated the audience with their undeniable chemistry in the drama film "Sana Dati" more than seven years ago.

In an interview on "Unang Hirit" with Lhar Santiago aired Wednesday, Benjamin admitted feeling uneasy when he first met Lovi on set .

"Sobrang nahihiya pa nga ako, ayaw ko siyang kausapin," the actor said.

"I was starstruck and I was just really culture shocked the whole time, the whole thing," he added.

Lovi, on the other hand, giggled at the idea and shared how excited she was to be reunited with her "Sana Dati" co-star.

"I was just looking forward to working again with Ben," the actress said.

"Knowing Ben, sobrang relaxed na tao din, funny din siya behind the camera,"  she added.

"Sana Dati" is a 2013 drama film about a woman (Lovi) who is about to get married when she comes across a mysterious guest who reminds her of a man (Ben) she truly loves.

The two actors are now expected to turn up the kilig in "Owe My Love," a new romantic comedy television series arriving on GMA in 2021. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
