SHINee, IU’s covers of each other’s songs

SHINee and IU just blessed their fans as they did a cover of each other’s songs in an episode of the latter’s “Palette.”

In a Youtube video on Saturday, IU did her own version of SHINee’s hit “Sherlock,” even imitating the “freeze” step in the song.

According to the IU, she stayed up until dawn and made about 30 chorus tracks so she can give justice to the song.

“We were in shock," SHINee’s Minho commented. "It was so good. You didn’t see how excited we were."

SHINee, meanwhile, sang IU’s “Dear Name,” which the latter said, is the hardest one out of all her songs.

“It sounds so good. It’s hard, right? When I heard that you chose ‘Dear Name,’ (I thought) SHINee is great, indeed,” IU said.

As of writing, the video is close to reaching 2 million views with fans commenting how great the two versions were.

SHINee recently released their latest album “Don’t Call Me.” IU, meanwhile, said that she is currently preparing for a new one that’s set to drop soon. — Franchesca Viernes/LA, GMA News
