GMA Network hailed as TV Station of the Year at 5th GEMS Awards

GMA Network was hailed as the TV Station of the Year at the 5th GEMS-Hiyas ng Sining Awards on Monday.

The Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students (GEMS) also recognized several Kapuso personalities and shows for their contributions in the industry.

Willie Revillame bagged the Best Male TV Program Host (Public Service) for "Wowowin" while Vicky Morales won the Best Female TV Program Host (Public Service) for "Wish Ko Lang."

For the television category, Dingdong Dantes won the Best Performance by an Actor for his TV series "Descendants of the Sun."

Nora Aunor, meanwhile, bagged the Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role in her film "Isa Pang Bahaghari."

"Stand For Truth" was also named the Best Digital Newscast while Rowena Salvacion won the Best Female Broadcaster (Opinion or Public Service) for "Serbisyo on the Spot."

"Makakaasa po kayo na lahat kami sa GMA ay sama-samang magsisikap para magbigay sa publiko ng dekalidad na entertainment at serbisyong totoo sa paglilingkod at pagbabalita," veteran anchor Mike Enriquez said in a video message.
