Chris Evans is this telco's newest endorser

Chris Evans is Smart Telecommunications' newest — and first-ever Hollywood A-list endorser!

The Hollywood star was unveiled as the face of its "Live Smarter for a Better World" 2021 campaign on Thursday, in a 2-minuter video helmed by Pascal Heiduk, a German-born director that has worked with the likes of Hugh Jackman and Lewis Hamilton.

It first shows a silhouette of a man surveying the horizon atop a mountain, turning introspective and then asking, "If the world gave us a second chance, what would we do?"

Only then was Chris' face revealed.

He then rides a motorcycle through zigzagging road into a high tech-looking tunnel.

When he alights the two-wheeler, Captain America asks, "Should we do good? Or should we do better?"

The TVC ended with Chris speaking in Filipino, "Sim-ple, SMART ako. How about you? What are you prepared to do?"

"Through our 'Live Smarter for a Better World' initiative, it is our aim to create that spark in everyone to help change the world for the better rather than just settling for ‘good’,” said Alfredo S. Panlilio, Smart Communications' President and CEO in a statement.

"We are truly honoured to collaborate with Chris on this project," said Jane J. Basas, Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart. "By lending his star power and appeal to support our campaign, we hope to inspire more people to bring out the hero within them and unleash their own power to help change the world - one positive action at a  time."

Chris makes for the right choice as last year, he launched a civic engagement platform called "A Starting Point," where he interviews various US politicians and stakeholders in minute long videos to discuss American policies and newsworthy topics. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
