Geneva Cruz holds online show to raise funds for mom battling with COVID-19

Geneva Cruz did an online jamming session to raise funds for her mom who is currently battling with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In the YouTube Live titled “A Show for Mama,” Sunday, Geneva shared that her mom is in a critical condition and is staying at a hospital to recover.

“RAISING FUNDS for my mom, Marilyn Cruz, who raised me, supported me and has been the best grandma to my children,” she wrote in the caption.

“She needs proper medical attention as soon as possible as she is sick with Covid. Our whole family is doing all we can but any donation from you guys would go a long way,” she added.

Among the songs she sang in the live were “You Gotta Be,” “Titanium,” her song “Anak Ng Pasig” and Smokey Mountain’s “Mama.”

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Geneva said that her mom’s “been hit a bit hard” because of her hypertension and diabetes.

During the live show, Geneva urged everyone to stay at home and to be careful. “Some people think COVID is not real. It looks really real to me.”
