From his charisma and good looks to his background as a businessman and athlete, fans can’t help but compare David Licauco to a real-life Korean drama character.

In an online interview after renewing his contract with GMA Network on Wednesday, David mentioned that he admired South Korean actors and he would love to be part of a Korean production remake one day.

So GMA News Online asked the Chinito Heartthrob who his ultimate K-drama crush was and learned that it was Kim Da Mi from "Itaewon Class."

"Gusto ko 'yung sa 'Itaewon Class.' 'Yung maliit na 'yung short hair. Cute niya eh," said David.

David is also fond of "Itaewon Class" because he takes inspiration from the lead actor, Park Seo Jun, and his character, Park Sae-ro-yi.

"Sobrang nagustuhan ko kasi 'yung character niya sa Itaewon Class," he said. "Kasi business-minded goal-getter and, 'yung acting kasi ng mga Koreans, 'yun 'yung medyo fino-follow ko."

David Licauco just renewed his contract with GMA Network on Wednesday, July 7.

In his four years as a Kapuso, the Filipino-Chinese actor, athlete and entrepreneur delighted viewers on several TV shows, from the fantasy-action series "Mulawin vs. Ravena" in 2017 to playing the lead in the well-loved rom-com "Heartful Cafe" which just aired its final episode last month. – RC, GMA News
