Beauty Gonzalez and Kelvin Miranda are set to play lovers on the upcoming episodes of “Stories of Hope” titled “Loving Miss Bridgette.”

The new Kapuso actress will play Bridgette de Leon, a guidance counselor at a university, while the younger actor will give life to Marcus Villareal, a medical student.

In an online interview with the press on Wednesday, Beauty and Kelvin said they were both grateful and excited to be paired with each other.

“Makikita mo yung pagka-brilliant niya bilang aktres so na-excite ako na may matututunan ako sa kanya bilang aktor, bilang katrabaho niya,” Kelvin told GMA News Online.

“I was so excited to work with someone new, something different, something challenging for me. I was so happy [because my] expectations were met by Kelvin, I must say,” said Beauty.

Even though the two would be teaming up for the first time, director Adolf Alix Jr. said there was a “spark” between them.

To which their co-stars Bing Loyzaga and Adrian Alandy agreed, saying they also saw it.

“Sa dialogue pa lang at delivery ni Beauty at Kelvin, makikita mo may kilig, cute factor,” Bing said. “Noong nakikita na namin ’yung actual, nakikita ko ’yung chemistry nilang dalawa.”

Tackling a forbidden love story between a school official and a student, Adolf and creative head and consultant Des Garbes-Severino said they were “very careful” with how the scenes were done.

Des said their story was “worth telling” as it also had a stand on “predatory behaviors.”

“These characters aren’t perfect. They’re flawed. [They just fell] in love but they tried to make the best out of their situation,” she said.

At the end of the day, head writer Ken de Leon said the show’s story was about “love and healing.”

Also starring Noel Colet, Polo Ravales, Lloyd Samartino, and Nikki Co, “Loving Miss Bridgette” will premiere on GMA-7 on Sept. 13.

It will be part of “Stories from the Heart,” GMA’s new drama anthology of unusual love stories which show how social media affects the relationship of lovers and the people surrounding them.
