GMA Entertainment Group brings eminent writers on board
GMA Network reinforces its pledge to deliver groundbreaking and unconventional stories to its viewers as it welcomes award-winning and legendary writer Ricky Lee to its talented ensemble of creative and production teams.
A screenwriter, journalist, novelist, and playwright, Ricky Lee is regarded to be one of the giants who has shaped the ever-changing landscape of Philippine cinema. His name is, more often than not, glued to some of the most iconic and remarkable films in the country including Himala (1982), Muro-Ami (1999), Death Row (2000), and Jose Rizal (1998).
Ricky as Creative Consultant for the Network is set to provide basic and advance workshops for new and existing writers of the network. He can recommend concepts developed during the workshops and assist in recruiting new writers for the Network. He will also conduct script appreciation workshop for the cast members of the program/s that will be assigned to him as well as the creative and production people.
The esteemed screenwriter briefly recounts his experience working for the Network before, "I have worked with GMA before. I did Telesines and films like Jose Rizal, Muro-Ami, and Death Row for GMA Films. I fondly remember Jimmy Duavit and Butch Jimenez because it was so pleasant to work with these young, dynamic, and visionary producers."
Ricky also expresses his enthusiasm to be playing a part in the subsequent shows of the Network and cites some of the Kapuso artists he hopes to work with.

He also reveals that, if he were to make a television adaptation of one of his works, he would love to work with some of GMA’s young stars, “It would be nice to do a back-to-back adaptation of Salome and Moral. Maybe with Bianca Umali as Salome. I saw her in Legal Wives and I thought she was very good. It would also be nice to imagine GMA's young female stars in Moral.”
Also joining the creative team of the Network's highly-acclaimed GMA Entertainment Group is accomplished writer Maria Regina "Reggie" Amigo who is notable for her works in Philippine dramas.
Reggie reveals that she is beyond excited for this new chapter in her career, "I am honored that GMA has accepted me into the family. I am excited for this next chapter in my life - to work with new people, to discover a different point of view, to learn new things, and to forge new friendships. This venture I now face won't be easy, but with the support of the Kapuso family, I will meet the challenge head-on."
The Network likewise proudly welcomes to their skilled stable of Senior Writers Mark Angos, who is part of upcoming family drama series “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon;” Jimuel Dela Cruz, who joins the romantic drama series “Heartful Café,” the forthcoming episodes of “Stories from the Heart: Never Say Goodbye and Love On Air,” and other highly-anticipated programs “Widows’ Web” and “I Can See You: Alternate;” Benjamin Benson Logronio, who is onboard the team of Stories from the Heart: Never Say Goodbye, the riveting legal drama “Artikulo 247,” and the award-winning drama anthology “Magpakailanman;” and Aris “Ays” De Guzman, who is involved in the top-rated fantasy drama series “Agimat ng Agila.”
