Gil Cuerva is set to play another Korean in the upcoming episodes of "Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko."

Titled "Oh My Oppa," the actor will give life to a Korean robot named Gong Yoon Bin, whom Grace (Sanya Lopez) bought to serve as her temporary companion to prove something to her ex Alex (Jon Lucas).

In just one click through a watch, Grace has the ability to control Yoon Bin's actions and emotions. Roles he can portray are a bad boy, a friend, and a boyfriend, among others.

Playing a robot, Gil said among the challenges he experienced was maintaining a stiff posture and his robotic gestures. Nevertheless, he enjoyed it a lot.

In 2017, the Kapuso actor starred in the Philippine adaptation of the Korean drama series "My Love from the Star" as Matteo Do, an alien. It was originally played by Kim Soo Hyun.

Portraying another character inspired by Korean entertainment, Gil said he is thankful and enjoying the roles. He also said the Philippines can learn a lot from Korean dramas such as cinematography, direction, and story.

"All of those pieces add to how all of these K-dramas are very beautiful or nice to watch," he said. "We can pick up from what they're doing 'cause I think they're doing a lot of really great things."

Joining Gil, Sanya, and Jon in "Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko: Oh My Oppa" are Derrick Monasterio and Ashley Ortega. It will premiere on Sunday on GMA-7.
