GMA's Hollywood correspondent honored at Los Angeles Press Club's 14th Nat'l Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards

Janet Susan R. Nepales, Hollywood correspondent of GMA-7 Network, won third place in the recently held Los Angeles Press Club’s 14th National Arts & Entertainment Journalism (NAEJ) Awards. The event was held virtually due to the pandemic.

Nepales won the award for her article on “Oliver Stone Recalls Filming in PH in New Memoir” in the Celebrity News or Feature category.

LA-based, Nepales writes the weekly column Hollywood Insider for GMA-7 Online. She recently also won second place last year at the 63rd Southern California Journalism Awards of the Los Angeles Press Club for her interview with Darren Criss on Hollywood.

The Santo Tomas Journalism cum laude alum also recently came out with her first limited edition hardbound coffee table book, “FASHION. Filipino. Hollywood. The World,” the paperbound edition of which it will come out on Amazon.com soon.

Nepales, who is the first Filipina member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association that presents the Golden Globe Awards, was recognized by the Filipina Women’s Network (FWN) as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the U.S.” in 2012 and as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the World” in 2013. She is a co-author of the first FWN book entitled “DISRUPT: Filipina Women: Proud. Loud. Leading Without A Doubt.”

She is married to journalist-author Ruben V. Nepales with whom she has two daughters, Bianca Nicole and Rafaella Angelica.
