This was Vilma Santos' favorite excuse when she admittedly went through an 'unprofessional' phase
On the first episode of "Surprise Guest with Pia Archangel," Vilma Santos talked about a wide variety of things including her new-found gig as a vlogger, her most iconic roles, and — gasp! — having gone through an 'unprofessional' phase.
"Naging unprofessional din ako. There was a time in my career, yung part ng career ko o ng buhay ko na nagtatrabaho pa rin na unprofessional din ako," she tells Pia candidly.
"Yes, oh my God," she continues. "Naka set up na pero hindi ako uma-attend sa shooting. Darating na lang doon yung sasakyan ko at sasabihin wala po si Ate V kasi masakit ang tiyan, mayroon po siyang period."
Having her period, in fact, was her favorite excuse, sending her colleagues bickering behind her back.

"Yun ang laging dahilan kaya sabihin, hindi na matapos yang period na yan. Kapag hindi ako dumarating sa set, lagi na lang may period yan. Hindi ba natatapos yang period na yan?" She said.
But that period in her life taught Ate Vi an important lesson: how to apologize and be more professional.
"Doon mo lang na-realize na hindi lang ikaw nagsu-suffer diyan. Paano yung mga crew na sumusweldo? Kapar hindi ka nag-shooting, hindi na babayayan yan, yung time ila, yung mga artista. So natututunan mo havant nagmamature ka. oon mo naaappreciate na, oh my god. No man is an island. Hindi pwedeng ikaw lang."
