Ruru Madrid on 'Lolong' fight scenes with Paul Salas: 'Maraming beses talaga na nagkasakitan kami'

By HERMES JOY TUNAC,GMA News

"Lolong" main star Ruru Madrid admitted his fight scenes with Paul Salas in the newest GMA series were so intense, they took home some bruises.

“Maraming beses po talaga na nagkasakitan kami,” Ruru said at the "Lolong" media conference on Monday.

But despite the heated scenes with Paul, the Kapuso Action-Drama Prince said they both remained professional with their craft, understanding that all the unintended punches were part of the job.

“Hindi po para magkasakitan kami, kundi para mapaganda yung eksena. Syempre, gusto po namin na lumabas yung totoo,” told Ruru.

Paul added accidents are inevitable when doing action scenes.

“Nasa emosyon kami ni Ruru. Eh minsan, kasi ‘pag papunta na sa tiyan yung suntok, eh alam ko naman, six-pack abs naman ‘to, ‘di naman niya mararamdaman ‘to pero naiintindihan niya naman,” Paul said with a laugh.

Paul also added that since he and Ruru love to work out, they treat these action scenes like cardio.

“Kaya rin siguro nagiging maganda ['yung eksena] kasi ine-enjoy naming dalawa. Lumalabas yung passion namin,” he added.

Poised as this year’s biggest primetime action-adventure series, "Lolong" is certainly coming on strong. Imagine: Its trailer has already generated 1M views in a little over 24 hours after being shared on social media.
